Being handicapped is not a question anymore. Living, managing and enjoying everyday life when using a walker is attainable to an individual in this society. Accessibility to public, and other needs that a person must have can easily achieve because they are our special needs.

Accessibility to public is a special need. Public services, which include state and local government instrumentalities, organization, groups, and other commuter authorities, cannot deny services to people with disabilities participation in programs or activities which are available to people without disabilities. In addition, public transportation systems, such as public transit buses, must be accessible to individuals with disabilities. Modification of your home is one of the structural accesses needed. Just always be sure that you are in the right track in providing your living environment a more and easy access place to live in. All new construction and modifications must be accessible to individuals with disabilities. For existing facilities, barriers to services must be removed if readily achievable. Public accommodations include facilities such as restaurants, hotels, grocery stores, retail stores, etc., as well as privately owned transportation systems.

Strong advocacy skills are essential to enable a consumer or a family member to get the kinds of services, funding and mobility devices that they need. Empowerment is the sense that gets what is fair and right and takes the steps necessary to accomplish their goals.

Work for a living is also a special need for disabled people. And ADA (American Disabled Act) states that business must provide reasonable accommodations to protect the rights of individuals with disabilities in all aspects of employment. Possible changes may include restructuring jobs, altering the layout of workstations, or modifying equipment. Employment aspects may include the application process, hiring, wages, benefits, and all other aspects of employment. Medical examinations are highly regulated.

Disabled people have right to enjoy especially the younger ones. Specify access to amusement rides, boating facilities, fishing piers and platforms, golf courses, miniature golf courses, sports facilities, and swimming pools, wading pools, and spas should be safe. For these, mishaps are avoided and the place for recreation is a better place to relax on.

Education is a need for everyone. Being disabled doesn't mean you will not study at all. There are centers for the study and advancement for disabled that provides public education, leadership development and training, technical assistance and information dissemination, and conducts action-research and analysis of public policy issues affecting individuals with disabilities and their families. There are also special classes for special children that perform and facilitate the use of computers, assistive and adaptive technologies with quality instructional technologies.
